Weekly Reflection

This week I was sick so I only went to school on Monday and Friday. On Monday we started some zentangling, for zentangling we had to get a picture of ourselves and then zentangle around ourselves. We also went swimming with the little kids and got free time. On Friday I did puzzles and some of them were hard and some were easy, we have also started a bit of tech because we are not doing it at the college anymore. Something I am looking forward to is swimming sports on Monday next week because I forgot about it until this week and I want to get into HP or TV swimming sports. Something else I am looking forward to is hopefully not being sick and getting to go to school every day except for the weekends.

Lex From Attitude

today Lex from attitude came down to see us. He talked about who are we and told us some funny stories. My favorite one he told us was the one when he went to the Phillips and they think it's rude to point so they use their lips to point the way.

My favorite activity that we did was finding out what animal we are. There are 4 animals and they are the otter's lions beavers and golden retrievers. I was a golden retriever which means they are calm kind nice and they like helping people but they also bring the peace.

Lex was here to tell us about who we are and help us build our self-esteem, but he was really funny and made us laugh when he told funny stories. Some things I learnt is everyone is different in their own way and about the genes make up some of who we are.

Big Chief/Little Chief

For Big Chief/Little Chief we have to share what our roles are.

One of my special roles this year is being a leader because I am a year 8 at primary school so all the little kids look up to us.

Another role is representing our school in front of many other schools in swimming sports, cross country and athletics.

I am really looking forward to my last year in Marama.

Its Hometime

After school finishes and I get home I like to do lots of things like some of the things down below.

That's most of the things I like/do when I am at home after school.

My First Week Back At School

I found my first week back at school really fun but I was nervous to be a year 8 but excited because it's my last year at primary school then I move on to college. One of my favorite things we did in the first week was art because I really want to get better at art this year because I am not that good at it. Something else that I was excited about was seeing my friends again and meeting all the new people in our class. So overall, I had a really good first week.

Drive Time

If I was a car I would be a Grand Jeep Cherokee in white, because it's my favorite car and I really want one when I am older. I like them because they are safe and you can trust them. I like all of the types of Jeeps but the Grand Cherokee is my favorite.

My top 2 smarts are naturalistic and musical. I will try to work more outside instead of inside. I am already playing an instrument but I will try to practice more and more and try my very best when I am playing it. The instrument I play is the saxophone.

Beach Ed Trip

On Wednesday we went to Waihi beach to go see the lifeguards there. When we got there we had to put our bags underneath the deck. Then we had to go upstairs to where the lifeguards were. The first thing the lifeguards did was tell us about them self. Most of the lifeguards we meet work at a then Waihi diffrent beach. Then they split us into year 7 and 8s. The year 8s stayed inside and the year 7s took a tour. When we were inside we learned about the 10 facts the lifeguards use to keep safe at the beach. One of them is to always have an adult watch over you at the beach. Then we learned about rips and how to spot them and how to get out of them if you get into one. Then we swapped with the year 7s so we took the tour of the Surf Club. They showed us the tower and then the IRBs.

After we had finished inside we had morning tea after beach games. The year 8s did seaweed first then we swapped and did beach flags. For beach flags, we had to lie down and then get up as fast as we can then run and grab the flag. After that, we did a game where we had to save other people with the tube thing. After all that fun we had lunch then we got in the water. First, we had to run around the adults, then dolphin dive, then high five then lay on our back for 10 seconds, then we got to splash them and then we got free time. Overall that day was really fun and I would really want to do it again.

  • To stay out of calm water because that is a rip
  • To slip slop slap and rap
  • Always have an adult with us when we are in the water
