On Saturday the 7 of October, I went to the Matamata show. It is my first show of the year. First was leading, second was rearing and last was dairy type. There were 45 seniors altogether.
For leading some of the calves in our ring did not want to walk. I think my lead quite well. She got me a sixth because some of the calves lead better than mine, but it was quite close between all the calves.
For rearing the judge would see how clean your calf was and if you can handle them good. The judge can also ask you questions about your calf. When the judge asked me what my calf’s name is I forgot it because I was really nervous.I did not get anywhere for rearing.
Before dairy type, there was a really big gap because they saw who would win champion of champion. For dairy type, you don't really need to do much except you have to choose a good calf and stand it good in the ring I don't really know how good my calf did because I don’t know what the calf needs to have or not have. I did not get anywhere for dairy type either.
After we have done our calves and packed them up, we get to go on the rides and get some food. I got an ice-cream, cotton candy, and a hot chocolate. I also went on a ride where you sit down on a chair hanging and it spins you around and around. After we went home, on the way back we got McDonald's. I had a really good day and it was also my first time going.
